Analysts will participate in a six-week on-site training program, focused on SNL products, industries, standard procedures and data management.  The position requires computer proficiency, strong communication skills, attention to detail, flexibility, organization, problem-solving abilities, and a desire to exceed client expectations.  BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Mathematics preferred.

Senior Analyst, Energy

The Senior Analyst is responsible for the timely, accurate and comprehensive collection of financial, market, and descriptive information covered by the Energy M&A group. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and enhancement of the data set. Approves low and high sensitivity data. Provides training for new employees and serves as a resource to Analysts.

Principal Duties include entering and approving data sets collected for applicable companies and industries; reviewing and approving financial, institution and other non-financial data sets collected; provide meaningful feedback to analyst responsible for data entry; completes daily maintenance of assigned datasets, as well as quarterly production requirements. Keeps up-to-date in knowledge of datasets and develops expertise in the area of Energy company, plant, operating and M&A data. Provides input and ideas for new collection methods and product enhancements related to datasets. Troubleshoots problems or issues and provides feedback to co-workers. Works closely with other departments to improve the data and collection procedures and to increase standardization within Energy M&A and across all M&A datasets. Calls assigned company staff directly for assistance in understanding the information that has been collected and to request additional information. Reviews daily faxes and information collected. Provides training for new employees and serves as a resource to analysts. Assists other staff as required.

Ideal candidates will present with a Four-year degree in business or related field or equivalent education and experience, as well as two years of prior experience in an analyst capacity. Preferred experience includes knowledge of accounting/finance; prior database experience; experience in the financial services industry and knowledge of accounting principles.

Responsibilities include achieving maximum sales profitability and growth by effectively selling SNL’s Statutory Insurance data products and services; travel to client sites to discuss SNL products, services provided, and client needs.

Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent education and experience. Two to five years of experience in sales preferred, ideally selling statutory insurance information products.
